Autism Assessment

An autism assessment is a specialized assessment that will confirm or rule out a diagnosis of autism spectrum disorder (ASD). An autism assessment examines not only symptoms of autism but may also examine other areas of functioning such as socioemotional well-being, cognitive abilities, and adaptive skills. Dr. Hamel uses the gold standard tools for autism assessment including the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and the Autism Diagnostic Interview (ADI-R). Her assessments are in keeping with the best practice guidelines in BC. If your child is diagnosed with autism, Dr. Hamel will complete the necessary paperwork that will help you access funding for your child.
